programme Access Key

V | Highly Visual / No Text
Projects with this tag will be highly visual and contain minimal or no text.

S | Sound Based
Projects with this tag will be sound based, either audio works or predominantly sound based performances, musical experiences.

CC | Captioned
Projects marked CC will have live, or pre-recorded captions in English. These captions will express all text spoken, and any background sound that informs the action.

BSL | British Sign Language Interpreted
Performances marked BSL will be interpreted by Hearing British Sign Language interpreters. On each show page it will list who the interpreter is. These performances will be as integrated as possible and visible to all audience members

(BSL) | BSL on Demand
Performances marked (BSL) are predominently durational performances or one on one performances that contain minimal spoken language & sound. You can request a BSL Interpreter from the Info Desks in Tramway or CCA and they will accompany you into the performance. This style of interpretation is un-integrated and un-rehearsed, & therefore it is only for simple or conversational sound.

SP | Subpacs
Subpacs are wearable vests that convert sound onstage into vibrations. They are available on a first come first served basis for shows in Tramway T1 (3 available) and in the CCA Theatre (2 available). You can collect them from the front of house team as you enter the spaces.

Content Notes
We have included 'content notes' on the individual show pages. These will highlight if the project includes reference to; sexual violence, graphic violence, emotional abuse, child abuse, domestic abuse, miscarriage, terminated pregnancy, alcohol or substance addiction. We appreciate this list is not comprehensive and encourage you get in touch if there is a particular subject matter not listed you wish to avoid.

Support for those with Parenting / Caring Responsibilities
We recognise the barriers facing those with parenting & caring responsibilities wishing to fully participate in the arts community, particularly in needing to arrange childcare when there is no guarantee you will get into our Festival events. Whilst we do not have particular provision in place for the 2023 Festival, it is something we will be reviewing for our 2024 Festival and beyond. Many shows in this years Festival are durational with large capacities, where people can walk in and out, so it’s almost certain that everyone will get into something. We have also kept the ticket prices pay-what-you-can, to account for individual audience members different circumstances.

Mask Wearing
We encourage mask-wearing in busy-spaces; including when the bar gets crowded and in enclosed performance spaces. We will have disposable masks available at the Info Desk.

INFO DESKS

At each venue there will be an Info Desk near the box office staffed by the BUZZCUT Team, and two BSL Interpreters who will be happy to help you. At the Info desk you can:

  • Find out what shows are on at what times
