To close this year’s festival and celebrate 10(ish) years of BUZZCUT we’re inviting you all to join us to celebrate with an end-of-fest BUZZCUT birthday bonanza.
We’ll be welcoming the amazing Mavi Veloso performing her audio-visual album TRAVESTI BIOLÓGICA a transgenre electronic pop album which incorporates pop, contemporary R&B, hip hop, trap, electropop, synth pop, dance, tecnobrega and reggaeton. This work blends music and video in a celebration of trans and non-binary bodies, telling a story of struggle and discovery!
The multidisciplinary conglomerate of Sweætshops® will perform Imperson In Person, a supernormal stimulating extravaganza exploiting and resurrecting the dying sun god of popular adulation VEILS_YR_SLEEP, from Memphis (Egypt) to Vegas to live on stage, baby. With Elvis himself, the King is coming back baby…
Plus throughout the night you can see the work of our three Club Residency artists, Nikhita Devi, Shawn Nayar, and Chardonnay Emerald who you may have seen performing across Glasgow at our pals HEALTHY, Shoot Your Shot, and Bonjour!

Unlike the rest of the festival, the party is ticketed, with limited capacity, so make sure to grab yours as soon as possible!
Content notes:
Shawn Nayars performance will conceptually interweave sexual pleasure and violence. So the performance may have themes of sex, sexual violence, body horror. Thechoreography will be suggestive of these themes but not emulate them literally.
Sweætshops® performance involves audience participation and contains nudity, sexually explicit language, body fluids, scarification, loud noises, and strobing lights. It explores themes of toxic masculinity, cultural appropriation, abuse, child abuse, infantilism, substance addiction, eating disorders, and discrimination.
UPDATE REGARDING SARAMAGO PROTESTS
There are ongoing protests against Saramago (the independent bar & restaurant in the CCA), relating to their recent dismissal of workers. BUZZCUT supports the strikes is encouraging our audience not to frequent Saramago during any of our events until a resolution is reached.
Saramago is a business tenant within the CCA, owned and managed separately from the venue. We have therefore made the decision to continue with our CCA programme, including the party, to allow the artists who have travelled near and far to present their brilliant projects.
Therefore the party will only take place in the CCA Theatre, not the Saramago bar; and drinks purchased at Saramago will not be permitted upstairs to the performance space.
All we are legally allowed to provide our audience with is water……….. SO we are making the best water bar you have ever seen! We have basil, rosemary, orange, pomegranate, cucumber, lemon, mint… it's going to be the most hydrating Birthday Party you have ever been to. We have an incredible jam packed performance & DJ programme (performances start sharply at 23:00) with 5 amazing artists that you definitely don't want to miss.
We know it's a bit weird, but we're really looking forward to making the best of it and letting our hair down at the end of the Festival.
